Finding good Indian food is essential for me, especially when I am travelling. Who doesn’t love a good curry? But finding great, vegan options is not always easy. However, I think I am on to a winner with Bundobust, Liverpool.

Where is Bundobust Liverpool?

Located on the iconic Bold Street, this restaurant is in a prime location. However, make sure not to walk past as it is located upstairs and has a simple entryway that’s easy to miss.

After picking this place on a whim, whilst being pretty hungry from a day exploring the city, I was pleased to find an ample, open and welcoming space. Firstly, the thing I noticed was the large long rows of tables. This is great for large groups and for meeting new people. Secondly, the staff were super friendly letting us sit wherever we wanted and being incredibly welcoming.

As much as I love eating and cooking at home, it’s nice to get away and try new places.

First Impressions of Bundobust

I have been to the Manchester location, however, I instantly preferred this location. It wasn’t busy, had lots of light and felt like a great place to relax.

Also, the option to order from your table is a nice touch. I do hope food places keep this option as it is such a simple way to get what you want without any pressure of rushing to read the menu

Menu Options

Bundobust is a tapas-style, street food venue. The idea is to order several things to either share or make up your own meal. And they have a great choice of drinks including the mocktail I had above. This was delicious and refreshing and it’s nice to have some options when you don’t feel like having alcohol.

The okra fries are always delicious here and I tried this bhaji burger which was a winner. As you can tell I forgot to take a picture until I had eaten half of it.

Overall thoughts of Bundobust

I’d highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Liverpool. Whilst it is not entirely vegan (it is a vegetarian place) there are plenty of options for a plant-based meal.

I love the atmosphere and friendly feel of this restaurant. The staff were great and attentive whilst still giving you space. Also, the space feels relaxed.

Overall thoughts:

  • A budget-friendly option as you can choose the number of items you want
  • Great casual dining
  • Delicious food
  • Lovely Indian street food
  • Lots of vegan options
  • Great staff
